Basalt fiber composite reinforcement (referred to as BFRP) is a new type of non-metallic composite material formed by pultrusion process and special surface treatment with basalt fiber as reinforcing material and synthetic resin as matrix material.

The preparation method of basalt fiber reinforcement mainly includes the following steps:

1. selecting basalt rock as raw material, and carrying out crushing and grinding fine treatment;

2. adding basalt rock powder into high-strength steel structure and melting at high temperature;

3. centrifugal flinging of the melted mixture to form basalt fibers;

4. mixing and stirring the basalt fibers with concrete to form basalt fiber concrete;

5. pour the basalt fiber concrete into the mold to form basalt fiber tendon.

Basalt fiber reinforcement as a new type of high-performance fiber reinforced concrete materials, has the following characteristics:

1. High strength: the strength of basalt fiber reinforcing bar is several times that of ordinary steel bar, which can effectively improve the bearing capacity of the concrete structure, reduce the structural dimensions and self-weight, and improve the structural efficiency.

2. High toughness: basalt fiber reinforcing bar has good toughness and bending properties, not easy to break, can effectively absorb seismic energy, improve the seismic performance of the structure.

3. Explosion-proof: basalt fiber reinforcement has very high explosion-proof performance, can effectively resist the impact of bullets and explosions, to protect the building and personnel safety.

4. Strong durability: basalt fiber reinforcement has good corrosion resistance, not easy to rust and aging, can effectively improve the durability of the structure, extend the service life of the structure. The manufacturing process of basalt fiber tendon is similar to that of glass fiber, but its performance is between high-strength S glass fiber and alkali-free E glass fiber, with better stability and electrical insulation. It can be widely used in various civil engineering structures, such as bridges, tunnels, highways, underground facilities, etc., which can enhance the structural load-bearing capacity and stability, improve the seismic performance and durability of the structure.
