Introduction of Basalt Fiber

Basalt fiber with high strength, high and low temperature resistance, good durability, corrosion resistance, non-absorbent, good dielectric properties, radiation protection, good wave-transparent and wave-absorbent properties, cost-effective and moderate characteristics, commonly used in reinforcing thermoplastic composites, long-fiber-reinforced basalt fiber LFT composites products have the following characteristics:

  • Under high temperature and long time low load conditions, it will not produce deformation with good dimensional stability.
  • Fatigue resistance, high temperature resistance, low warpage, aging resistance, less fiber exposure, superior surface performance.
  • Small creep performance, small anisotropy, low warpage, density <1.6g/m3
  • Good wave-transparent and wave-absorbing properties, good fluidity, good molding performance, can be injection molding or extrusion molding.
  • Excellent mechanical properties, especially impact resistance, low water absorption, good seawater and salt spray resistance.
  • It can still maintain its performance in low temperature environment and will not be degraded by UV and electromagnetic radiation.

Application of basalt fiber long fiber reinforced LFT composites

1. Application in automobile field

Basalt fiber long fiber reinforced LFT composites can be used in bumper, fender, hood, instrument panel bracket, central armrest bracket, door substrate, front-end module, air intake manifold, seat back, automotive battery casing/bracket, door frame, roof window frame/pressure strip, automotive exterior mirror frame and so on in the automotive field.
